Mate Architects was founded by Ar. Tejus Kathpal and
Ar. Smriti Bhatia with a shared belief that design should be purposeful, personal, and rooted in context.

We are not just designers; we are listeners, collaborators, and problem-solvers. Every space we create begins with a conversation about how our clients live, work, and dream.
Our process is highly personalized and detail-oriented, where each project is tailored to reflect the personality and aspirations of those who inhabit it.

Since our inception in 2022, we've had the opportunity to work on over 50,000 sq. ft. of built residential and commercial spaces, with 80,000 sq. ft. currently under construction across India.

Ar. Tejus Kathpal & Ar. Smriti Bhatia

Principal Architect

Both graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Amity School of Architecture and Planning, and have since carved distinct yet complementary paths in the design world. Together, they bring a powerful blend of vision and execution to Mate Architects.

Tejus brings a keen eye for detail and strong construction knowledge, while Smriti offers an intuitive design sensibility and a talent for storytelling through space. Their collaboration ensures that every project is equal parts thoughtful, functional, and emotionally resonant.

Having led projects spanning across residential, commercial, and hospitality sectors, they approach each assignment with a fresh perspective and a deep commitment to craftsmanship.
